… As DG Prosperity Cup Assures of ‘Good Representation’ at Africa Youth Cup in Cape Verde

Dreams Football Academy has emerged winner of the first edition of the Governor Douye Diri Under 18 Invitational Football Tournament.
Playing in the final of the competition on Saturday afternoon at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa, Dream FA defeated Bayelsa Starlets by a goal to nothing.
In the third place game, Kingdom Stars Football Academy also pipped Dynamo Football Academy one zero. Eight teams participated in the tournament.
Meanwhile, the director general of the Bayelsa Governor’s Cup, tagged ‘Prosperity Cup,’ Mr. Ono Akpe, says the competition has given lifeline to youths in the state to pursue meaningful careers in football.
In an interview in Yenagoa, Mr. Akpe said the tournament has over the years positively engaged the youths, accounting for the peace enjoyed in the state so far.
Mr. Akpe said the players discovered through the Bayelsa Governor’s Cup will represent Nigeria in the forthcoming Africa Youth Cup billed to take place in Cape Verde from October 20 to 31 this year with 24 teams due to participate.
He thanked Governor Douye Diri, the deputy governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo and the Commissioner for Youth and Sport Development, Daniel Igali for their support and interest in the growth of the Prosperity Cup over the years.
