As the country gears up for the 2023 general elections, a consultative team for a gubernatorial hopeful in Delta State, Dr. Rufus Ebegba, who is the DG of the National Bio-Data Safety Management Agency in Abuja, has paid a courtesy visit to Delta Ijaw Political Movement in Toru-Agiama community, in Burutu Local Government Area of the state to strategize on how their principal can emerge winner at the end of the general elections.
Addressing supporters and members of the political think-tank, which spans the three Ijaw local government areas in the state, Engr. Goddey Awenuvie, who was the leader of the delegation from Evwreni town (home town of their principal) in Ughelli North LGA of the state, told the Ijaw people to assiduously work for Dr. Rufus Ebegba’s victory.
He described Ebegba as a man with foresight and visionary ideas to lift Delta State from ravaging economic woes by vigorously pursuing policies and programmes that could bring about industrial revolution and infrastructural development of the entire state, thus creating job opportunities for the teeming and jobless youths and lifting many Deltans from abject poverty.
Hear him: “We are here to strategize with you on how our principal, Dr. Rufus Ebegba can win the Delta 2023 gubernatorial election. We can’t do the job alone. This is why we decided by the permission of our principal to pay this courtesy visit to our brothers and sisters here.
“Dr. Rufus Ebegba is truly a thorough bred and grassroots politician. He’s a man that is loved by both the young and old for his generosity, philanthropy, humility and simplicity. He is a detrabilized Deltan who also knows our pains and feelings for what we are passing through under this very government in the state.
“He’s a man who has made life from his personal job and he’s not going into government to cheat on the people. Rather, he’s going into government to sacrifice his time, energy and wisdom to fix every part of the Delta State economy that is destroyed, to yield positive results that will make life meaningful to the generality of Deltans. “Let’s partner together in this race and struggle. Our principal will personally come here to address all of you in due time. It won’t be too long from now,” he said.
In response to the speech by the delegation leader, the coordinator of the political group, Chief Hitler Ekiokeyi, thanked the Dr. Rufus Ebegba Political Team for embarking on such visit which he described as timely and resourceful.
“In fact, we are hearing of different politicians from different political parties aspiring for the governorship position of the state. We know at the end, they shall filter the chaff from the real seeds. This is why there is a saying that, not all the palm nuts will go to the wolf. Some will fall outside.
“But we strongly believe in the political dream of Dr. Rufus Ebegba, having seen and read much about his achievements in bio-data safety management in this government. We are ready to work with him in this race. Our support is always behind him at any time he calls upon this group. We purposely formed this group to mobilize for his success in the elections. His track records and profile are very much convincing as the kind of leader that can deliver the dividends of democracy to every part of the state irrespective of gender, religion, ethnicity and social class. We promise to give our full support to him at all times,” he said.
The visit however had in attendance, co-ordinator of Delta Ijaw Political Movement, Chief Hitler Ekiokeyi, Mr. Sankey Eruro, secretary, Mrs. Christiana Akangban and others.
