In the aftermath of the 2023 elections, stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Hon. Fidelis Adjogbe has organized a get-together for members and supporters of the popular Fidelis Support Group (FSG) of Evwreni Ward 08, in appreciation of their “tireless efforts which finally culminated into the victory of the PDP during the governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.”
At an event held at the Eclat Hotels, Ughelli in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Adjogbe, who is the principal and founder of the Fidelis Support Group (FSG), and also SSA (Political) to the state governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, said, “the get-together is to appreciate all of you for your tireless efforts you made during the just concluded 2023 general elections.
“At last, our labour was not in vain. Our labour brought the victory of our party in the governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state. Our governor-elect who is also Evwreni son in-law, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori said, I should thank all of you for considering him worthy to be voted as the governor of the state,” he said.
FSG’s director general, Hon. Desmond Okpako, who is a former councilor for Evwreni Ward, described their principal, Hon Fidelis Adjogbe as a man of the people and a grassroots mobilizer “whose leadership sagacity and academic acumen are second to none amongst so many political leaders in the state.” Hon. Okpako also lauded members of the Fidelis Support Group for their commitment and dedication to achieve the goals and objectives of the group during the elections.
In his remarks, chairman of the Fidelis Support Group, Dr. Johnson Abrucha who is also the ‘Akpohor’ (deputy speaker) of Unenurhie community thanked their principal, Hon Adjogbe for his leadership virtues of humility, generosity and integrity.
The ‘Akpohor’ of Unenurhie community also thanked God for knowing the person of Hon. Adjogbe as a political leader early enough in his life. He equally appealed to members of the group to always be patient and prayerful with their principal as better things would soon come.
The high point of the event was the presentation of an Urhobo cherished delicacy called ‘Ukodo’, and financial support from Hon. Fidelis Adjogbe to members of his political group. Thereafter, a prayer session was conducted by the group’s vice chairman, Pastor Akin.
Amongst guests that attended the event were Mr. Peter Maison, the president-general of Unenurhie community, Chief Felix Ayovwe, the Otota’Rode of Evwreni kingdom, Chief Engr. Frank Imudje, the Otota’Rode of Unenurhie community, Hon. U. K. Edirin, the newly-elected president-general of Ogor kingdom, Prince Kenneth Ukpebitere, Mr. Moneyard Edjere, the Olotu’Rode of Unenurhie community and others.
