Dance Nigeria: UDO Set for World Biggest Dancing Championship in UK

All is now set for one of the world’s biggest dancing competition, scheduled for Cardiff Wales, United Kingdom.

The championship which offers a cash prize of N40 million, including other prizes, with 47 country partners and over 8 million viewers across the globe, is scheduled to hold August, 2025.

For Nigerians, participation in the Championship begins with a dance competition which is organised by the United Dance Organisation (UDO), across the 6 geopolitical zones of the country. It is believed to be the biggest in sub-Saharan Africa, titled: ‘Dance Nigeria’, and holding from February to July, 2025.

Chief Andy Azuka, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AmeXX Logistics Services Ltd, an indigenous organization with a Global solution in business, logistics, Entertainment, youth development and empowerment, talent search and other high value services, disclosed this to newsmen at a press conference to unveil the competition in Port Harcourt on Saturday.

Azuka said winners of the competition, which will be keenly contested, will earn the chance to represent Nigeria and West Africa at the World Championship in Cardiff, Wale in United Kingdom.

He told the press conference in that the competition is also a platform for discovering and empowering young talent, offering them the chance to grow in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Azuka said its an opportunity for youths to gain confidence, showcase their talents and also connect and compete favourably with fellow dancers in the world.

He said, “Our company, Amexx Logistics Services Ltd, is the sole representative of United Dance Organization, Cardiff Wales United Kingdom, an international brand, one of the biggest organizers of this dance championship in the world, with 47 country partners and over 8 million viewers across the globe, under this unique partnership, we are organizing the biggest dance championship in sub-Sahara Africa titled ‘Dance Nigeria.’

“This event is dedicated to the youths especially the dancers, to help them develop their arts and crafts, and show case their potentials to the general public and compete favorably with their counterparts across the globe and eventually become global stars and celebrity through the platform ‘Dance Nigeria’ will make available for them.

“Participation for the competition is almost free. We are only charging N2,500 for administrative fee. We are doing for the 6 geopolitical zones, and for each zone, the prizes are N2 million for first runner up, N1.5 million for second runner up, and N1 million for third runner up. The winner at the grand finale finally goes home with N5 million, and will go on to represent Nigeria at the World Championship come August, 2025 at Cardiff Wale, Unite Kingdom.”

Furthermore, Azuka said, the increased involvement of youths in crime and other social vices, and and his desire to help the youths turn a new leaf, get them engaged in meaningful activities and skills, and his love for dance inspired him and his team to come up the dance competition.

He said, “Way back in the days I used to be a dancer, and during similar competitions then, every youth will be practicing in their backyards. There was no room for cultism, illegal oil bunkering (kpo-fire), yahoo, among others, everybody will be practicing to win the competition.

“But when I look at the state of our nation and our Rivers State, the high rate of crime and all that, we decided to come up with this ‘Dance Nigeria’ so that we can put the youths together, get them busy and take them outside the country to compete favourably with their international counterpart to become global stars.

“This dance championship is a competition where winners will be automatic members of United Dance Organisation in Cardiff, UK, and will also be used regularly for other international competitions and events,” he added.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Barr. Dieokuma Ishmael commended the organisers of the competition, and pledged the support of the state government for the event.

He encouraged Rivers youths to make use of the opportunity and get registered for the competition.
