Customs Stakeholders Commend Babani On Revenue Drive

Stakeholders in the maritime industry especially the customs licensed Agent have commended the Comptroller of Area 2 Command of the Nigeria Customs Service Onne, Comptroller Abdullahi Babani on his determination at enhancing the revenue profile of the command.
These views were expressed on the heels of the recent revelation of the revenue profile of the command where it generated a total sum of over N70,000,000,000.00 (Seventy billion naira) nine months despite the recession plaguing the nation.
Some of the agents, who spoke with journalists, were of the view that the comptroller and his men have demonstrated an uncommon honesty and prudence in the management of the command which culminated in the successes being recorded in the revenue profile of the command.
Expressing the hope that the zeal and commitment being exhibited by the officers and men of the command that it is obvious that the posting of Babani as Comptroller was not misplaced but a square peg in a square hole.
Some of the stakeholders, who bared their minds on this included Chief Dennis Okwu, a prominent member of Association of Nigeria Customs Licensed Agents (ANCLA), who is also the Managing Director of Sweet Apple Shipping Services, was of the view that with current revenue profile of the command under the leadership of Babani that he will transform the command to revenue cash cow of the customs in the country.
Also speaking, a Deputy Comptroller in the command, Mohammed Gaya expressed the hope that with comptroller Babani in the saddle as their boss, whom he described as a honest gentle man that Onne command will witness an unprecedented leap in their revenue profile due to the honest attitude he has been imbibed by the officers and men of the command and used the opportunity to call on them to maintain the tempo.
In the same vein, the DC in-charge of Valuation in the command, Mr. Francis Udokwu described the posting of Babani to the command as the best thing that has happened to the command in recent time, which he described as moral boaster to the officer and men because of his exemplary conduct.
