Corps Members’ Welfare, Security Remain Top Priority ~ NYSC DG


… Hails Bayelsa Corps Members over ‘High Level of Discipline’

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig. Gen YD Ahmed, has assured that security and welfare of corps members remain top priority of his administration.

Brig. Gen Ahmed, who paid a familiarisation visit on Thursday to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Boro Town, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, commended the corps members for the high level of discipline in the camp and urged them to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the scheme.

He charged them to take responsibility for their personal security by being vigilant at all times and also ensure they read the security tips booklet given to them.

He urged corps members to shun misuse of the social media and also avoid posting NYSC activities on social media.

Speaking on the importance of the NYSC SAED programme, the DG encouraged them to key into SAED, which is aimed at making them self reliant and future employers of labour.

He admonished corps members to desist from needless adventures and night journeys due to dangers on the road, and commended the discipline and comportment of the corps members.

Earlier, the state coordinator, Mrs Okpalifo Obiageli Charity, briefed the director general on camp situation, adding that corps members had adjusted to the regimented lifestyle and have shown high level of discipline and are actively participating in all camp activities.

She also said that camp officials have sustained use of emotional intelligence in inter personal relationships on duty.

Among the entourage of the DG, include the director, Information and Public Relations, Mr Eddy Megwa, the deputy director, Special Duties, Mr Nura Umar among others.
