Constant Police Patrol, Checkmating Crime In Eleme ~ DPO

S.P Amos Taiwo, Divisional Police Officer,  Eleme, Nchia Divisional command has debunked the allegation that residents are leaving Eleme Local Government Area, relocating to other places due to the spate of violence and criminality.

The police officer said though people might have been  relocating from the LG. to other areas when he was transferred, but since he was brought back to Eleme in August this year, people have started coming back because of the proactive steps taken by the police to combat crime.

He urged the public, especially journalists to confirm the situation from the chiefs, community leaders and the caretaker committee chairman and verify his claims, maintaining that Eleme is relatively calm because the police is on top of the security situation in Eleme.

SP Taiwo said his team is in constant patrol and surveillance around all the volatile areas, covering all the communities that make up Eleme LGA.

According to him, his command transferred a notorious cultist to the anti cultism unit of the police on October 3, another 2 recently, then 2 more to SARS last week, while about 7 suspects were charged to court and were reminded by the magistrate.

The police officer advised parents to check the movement of their children and monitor the type of friends they keep, while urging them also to report any suspicious movement around their environment.

He also appealed to the government, well meaning individuals and companies in Eleme to assist the command in procurement of 2 patrol vehicles (Hilux) because most of their vehicles are obsolete while four are grounded adding that with sound patrol vehicles they can swiftly attend to distress calls immediately.
