Coker Bags 2026 Nostalgia Icon Award

An astute football administrator, Sir Chief Jimmy Nath Coker has been crowned with 2026 prestigious Nostalgia Icon of the old Port Harcourt Township Award.

‎The historic Award which was presented to him last Sunday, February 15th, 2026 inside Sharks Football Stadium by the organizers of the event, saw a roll call of who-is-who in the state.

‎Indeed, it was a delightful and memorable event  seeing Sir Chief Jimmy Coker, whose name rings bell across the nation being honoured in grand style, following his efforts both in serving God and also in the Sports circle.

‎Suffice it to say that, Sir Jimmy Coker is a man of impeccable character and has remained stable in doing what is right with the fear of God while praying that God will grant him long-life as he continue impacting lives positively.

‎Meanwhile, it would be pertinent to note that Sir Jimmy Coker has meritoriously served as a National Deputy President of YSFON and has also succeeded in taking many youth football clubs to international tournaments both in Denmark and Sweden.

‎The athletic-built Coker, one of the then safest hand in goal at NPA seasiders FC Port Harcourt and also had a brief stint with Red Devils of Port Harcourt later served as Vice Chairman Rivers State Football Association Board; and a Pioneer member of the RIVEFEST Carnival 1998 where his creativity in the construction of float was highly appreciated by all and sundry in the State.

‎Expressing his feelings after receiving the Award, Sir Jimmy Nath Coker  thanked God for his mercy as well as the organizers of the event for the honor done him in recognition of his contribution to the growth of Rivers State.

‎He encouraged  youths in the state to  imbibe the spirit of service to humanity and the community where they find themselves.

‎The visibly elated Sir Jimmy Coker, a recipient of many great Awards from notable organizations in the past and Chairman of many Boards of Trustee in the state also seized the opportunity to commend the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for its giant strides towards the installation of solar light in almost all the major streets in Port Harcourt and its environs.

‎Sir Jimmy Coker, who is known for his straight talk and peaceful deposition in nature also showered praises on Rivers State Government for her effort in carrying out a rehabilitation work at Creek Road Market which has given the area a beautiful look.
