Christendom, bound to be Divided till Christ Returns ~ Archbishop Danson

Christians all over the world have been charged to pray that God should raise men and women of God that would preach the truth and do His work the right way.

Senior Pastor of the Healing Word International Christian Centre and president, International Council of Archbishops and Bishops of Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches, His Royal Eminence, Archbishop Benny Danson, gave the charge while speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt at the occasion of his 58th birthday celebration recently.

The cleric, who was reacting to questions why there is division in the body of Christ, the Church, said the division would continue until Christ comes to take His Church, adding “we have sheep and wolves in Christendom and only Jesus Christ knows who are His.”

The archbishop enjoined Christians to rather pray that God should take away “the counterfeit and manipulative Christians who are bringing bad image to work of God.

“My prayer is that the church will come to a level where we will be relevant to the society positively, especially men of God,” he said and frowned at the situation where some so- called men of God give contrasting messages in the name of prophecies, stressing that God is not an author of confusion.

To those who have deviated from the faith, he prayed they mend their ways and stand for the truth, stressing that “if men of God, who are supposed to be seers, see the truth and cover it because of their stomach, then they would be suffering those God placed in their care to nurture spiritually.”

The cleric also prayed for Nigeria to be better and experience healing and revival, as well as stay true to its name, ‘the Giant of Africa’. He appealed to Nigerians to support and pray for the success of the present of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the president “wouldn’t have been on the seat if God is not backing him.

“God has a plan for everyone and Tinubu has come. My prayer for him is that God should grant him wisdom to do the one he can do. Leadership is not a child’s play so whether Nigerians like it or not, he is on the seat which means that God is backing him. God’s ways and thoughts are different from ours, if God is not backing him, he won’t be there”, Archbishop Danson said.

He therefore advised the president to choose his cabinet wisely, devoid of sentiments, in order to get the best hands that would help him work for the betterment of the country.

Speaking on his birth anniversary, Archbishop Danson thanked God for His faithfulness and mercy all through his 58 years of existence and appreciated all who came to celebrate with him, praying God to also give them reasons to celebrate and be celebrated.
