The chairman of Khana Local Government Area in Rivers State, Dr. Thomas Bariere, has been honoured with the prestigious Ambassador of Peace Award by the Catholic Women Organization Bori Deanery at his home town, Baen Community.
This recognition celebrates Dr. Bariere’s “exceptional leadership qualities and unwavering commitment to restoring peace in Khana LGA.”
Leader of the Catholic women, Madam Clara Wisdom Nwilenee, asserted that “the Ambassador of Peace award is testament to Dr. Bariere Thomas’s tireless effort in fostering harmony and tranquillity within the entire Khana.
She said his “visionary approach, strong determination, and dedication to the welfare of the people have played a pivotal role in bringing about positive change and fostering unity in the LGA”.
Nwilenee reiterated that “Dr. Thomas Bariere, has demonstrated exemplary leadership in promoting peace and development in Khana LGA,” stressing that the delegation of the Catholic Women Organization Bori Deanery had decided to bestow the award on him because of his ability to unite the people, his compassion for the people, and his unwavering commitment to peace which have made a profound impact on the lives of countless individuals. “We decided to recognize these exceptional contributions with the Ambassador of Peace Award,” she said.
Our correspondent gathere that under Dr. Thomas’ leadership, Khana LGA has witnessed significant advancements in various sectors, such as education, health care, infrastructure development and community engagement. “His inclusive governance approach has encouraged dialogue and collaboration among different stakeholders, leading to enhance social cohesion and sustainable development without parties divides in response,”
In response, Dr Thomas chairman expressed gratitude for the recognition.
He said, “I am humbled and deeply honoured to receive the Ambassador of Peace Award from this Catholic Women Organization, Bori Deanery. The recognition reaffirms our collective efforts to build a peaceful and prosperous Khana LGA. I accept this award on behalf of the entire members of my administration, as it is their resilience and unwavering support that has made our progress possible.”
