BMNA nominates Otuasega Chairman, Ezuzu Sydney, ‘Best CDC Executive of the Year’

Organizers of the prestigious award platform in the Niger Delta, the Bayelsa Media Network Awards (BMNA), have nominated the Community Development Committee (CDC) chairman of Otuasega community, in Ogbia Local Government Ares of Bayelsa State, as the ‘Best CDC Executive of the Year.’

This was disclosed on Monday, 23 April, 2024 during a visit by the CDC chairman to the organizers at the NUJ Press Centre, Ekeki, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

In his remarks, the Project manager of BMNA, Mr. Blessing Ozegbe, described Ezuzu Sydney as honest and a dedicated community leader who has the fear of God.

Ozegbe noted that Ezuzu Sydney has distinguished himself through his community service by exhibiting openness, sincerity and selflessness, adding that the Otuasega community is blessed to have him as their leader.

He explained that the BMNA being the watchdog of the society identity persons who have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavour and recognize them, stating that the BMNA awards is reputed for integrity and credibility, traits which he said are exhibited by the CDC chairman.

He maintained that the few months the CDC chairman had been on the saddle, he had ensured that court cases involving individuals and community are withdrawn and settled out of court, as well as wrestled power from some perceived strong forces controlling the community and returned peace.

Ozegbe pointed out that the CDC chairman always preaches equity and fairness in the allocation of community contracts and jobs as these are the hallmark of a good leader.

The BMNA Project manager emphasisrd that Ezuzu was chosen from a rigorous and credibie process by panelists based on laid down criteria of integrity, credibility and impact to society and advised Bayelsans to always honour and celebrate the living instead of the dead.

Responding, the CDC chairman of Otuasega community, Mr. Ezuzu Sydney, thanked the organizers for nominating him for such an enviable award, saying that he would continue to render service to his community selflessly.

Sydney said he was surprised to receive a call that he was being nominated as according to him, “whatever we are doing remember that unseen eyes are watching.”
