Baylesa SWAN Seeks Cooperation with Works Commissioner

In continuation of its visits to stakeholders in the sports sector, the leadership of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Bayelsa chapter, on Monday, paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Esv. Moses Teibowei.

Chairman of Bayelsa SWAN, Comrade Mrs Timinepre Ohia, in her remarks, congratulated the Works and Infrastructure commissioner on his reappointment by Governor Douye Diri, as well as commended him for his doggedness in carrying out the visions of the governor through the numerous projects ongoing in the state.

She described the Works and Infrastructure commissioner as a round peg in a round hole and a major stakeholder in sports, as she equally expressed her appreciation to him on behalf of the association, for his role in uniting the body before it’s last elective congress.

Ahead of the SWAN week for this year, Comrade Mrs Ohia however solicited for the support of the ministry, as well as other programs and projects that might be organized by the association.

SWAN Bayelsa also asked Esv. Moses Teibowei to be one of its patrons, which will be conferred on him during the SWAN Week.

In his response, the Works and Infrastructure Commissioner, Esv. Moses Teibowei congratulated the association for resolving their crises and uniting themselves as one and indivisible body, urging them to remain united, so that a lot can be achieved.

While congratulating them on their successful elections, the onetime chairman of Bayelsa United Football Club accepted to be a patron to the association, and pledged to support the body when the need arises.

Also present at the meeting was the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Mr Johnson Dagana, who is also the National President, Super Eagles Supporters Club.

The solidarity visit to the Works and Infrastructure Commissioner follows previous visits to other stakeholders, notably the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, Director of Sports, Sir Braveman Wodi, and Business Manager, Silverbird/Rhythm FM, Mr Oyins Egrenbido.
