Bayelsa Traditional Rulers’ Council Admits Tarakiri, Kumbowei

There was pomp and pegaentry at the secretariat of the Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council’s secretariat, following the formal admission of the Pere of Tarakiri Kingdom, HRM King Seiyifa Koroye, and HRM King Boloyi Sufadoh Embareba, V, Pere of Kumbowei Kingdom.

The duo was admitted into the exalted monarchs’ fold by the chairman of the council, HRM King Bubaraye Dakolo, Agada IV, the Ibenanaowei of Ekpatiama Kingdom.

In attendance were other respected and revered traditional rulers dressed in their royal regalia.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the epoch making ceremony, the state Commissioner for Special Duties, Government House, Chief Seikumo Ikisah, said as a titled chief of the ancient kingdom of Kumbowei, he joined other stakeholders to express joy over the formal admission of their monarch into the council of traditional rulers “where he will now contribute his own quota towards the development of the state.”

Chief Seikumo Ikisah, who spoke on behalf of the Kumbowei council of chiefs, said “our joy knows no boundaries as our monarch today after passing through all the required prerequisites, have formally been admitted to join other monarchs to rule the ancient kingdom, as there was no election, because traditional enthronement is hereditary in our kingdom.”

He said that he has no doubts in his mind that the new monarch who stepped into the shoes of his late father will leverage on the legacies of transparency, peace, accountability, unity and love, and sustain same based on his vast experience, adding that his reign will definitely usher in improved love and peace that will promote, and attract development and progress to the kingdom and it’s neighbours during his reign.

Chief Ikisah therefore urged all the stakeholders to rally round him and cooperate with him in order for him to ensure there is peace and harmony to the admiration and emulation of other kingdoms in the state in particular and Niger Delta in general.

In a related development, a group under the aegis of the Former Eight Local Government Area Rescue Mission Coordinators have congratulated their member, HRM King Boloyi Sufadoh Embareba, V, Pere of Kumbowei Kingdom and his anscesion to the throne and successful coronation ceremony.

The forum in a statement signed by Hon Tarila Debewari and others said they expressed joy while affirming their trust in the new king to lead the good people of Kumbowei Kingdom and they equally felicitated with Senator Heineken Lokpobiri on his recent appointment as the minister of Petroleum Resources (Oil ) and thanked President Ahmed Tinubu for  the appointment  of an illustrious Izon  son, describing  the appointment as a round peg in a round hole, being an indigene of Bayelsa State who is familiar with peculiarities of the region.
