The Commissioner for Women, Children Affairs, Empowerment and Social Development, Hon. Faith Opuene, Hon. Lucky Asanakpo and Mr. John Sambo, have been nominated for the fifth edition of the prestigious Bayelsa Media Network Awards.
A statement issued to newsmen in Yenagoa by the project manager, Mr. Blessing Matthew Ozegbe, said the awardees had distinguished themselves excellently in their various fields of endeavour, while describing Hon. Opuene as a square peg in a square hole, whose generousity and passionate zeal to develop Bayelsans through the laudable empowerment programmes and policies of the state government is second to none.
The statement further described Dr. Akpoebi Adesi, Hon. Ekisah Sinkumo, Mrs. Chineme Umeseaka, Hon. Gifted Natus, Mr. Venatius Ihekire Chinyeye, H.R.H Franklin Akintola, Paramount Ruler, Okutukutu Community, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, CPL. Clifford Noble, Chief Ebikapuador Ekoi Osuobeni, Mrs. Simeone Portia Fun-ere, Mr. Alfred Egbegi, Engr. Emmanuel Obinna, Jacobson Park, Amananaowei Tombri, Victor Eulogy, Mabel Magnimo, Princess Okoli, Yerin Jerry, Sandra Ossai, Gracious Fenana as personalities of integrity and reputable character, candor and epitome of extraordinary leadership qualities and game changers.
Mr. Ozegbe noted that they have discharged their responsibilities creditably well with impeccable service to humanity.
The further project manager noted that the epoch award ceremony will take place on Tuesday 26th December, 2023 at the Nigeria Union of Journalists Secretariat, Ernest Ikoli Press.
