“Even though this is my first time in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, let me tell Bayelsans and of course the Ijaw nation that I was one time chief whip of University of Benin students parliament, former deputy speaker, former youth activist, today I represent Ekeremor constituency 4, so am not going there as a novice,” he said.

He said he is qualified to represent his constituency and will put in his best to ensure that he brings his wealth of experience to bear on the floor of house by working in tandem with the speaker and other colleagues to perform their legislative and oversight functions for the betterment of the state and good governance.

“I am going to support the speaker and the leadership of the house and other honorable colleagues to ensure that bills that will eventually put to laws that will support the social development and economic growth of Bayelsa State.”

Hon Porri who also used the opportunity to commend Governor Seriake Dickson whom he described as his mentor, stressed that he is representing an erudite and historic constituency that had produced first speakers for the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, adding that he is conscious of the challenges ahead of him as a legislator and will not disappoint the confidence reposed on him.
