Chief Timipre Sylva

Bayelsa Guber: As with Tinubu in Aso Villa, So Sylva in Creek Haven ~ APC Chairman

By Amos Odhe, Yenagoa

Following the hand over of power from the immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari, to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, both of the All Progressive Congress, on May 29, 2023, the APC has predicted that a bandwagon effect arising from that epochal event would be experienced in Bayelsa State come November 11, 2023 when the state’s governorship election would be held.

Making this remark during a live viewing of the swearing-in- ceremony of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Alhaji Kashim Shettima, as president and vice president respectively, at the party’s state secretariat along Mbiama Road, Yenagoa, APC’s Bayelsa State chairman, Barr Otitio said that having triumphed over all obstacles that were thrown on his path, Bola Tinubu eventually mounted the saddle as President of Nigeria.

“Here in Bayelsa, the situation will not be different because, unlike Muhammadu Buhari, Tinubu will see the guber election here as his own,” he stressed.

He enjoined party faithful to put more efforts at mobilizing and sensitizing friends, relatives and the entire Bayelsa electorate on the need to cast their vote for the party at the coming November 11, 2023, governorship polls in the state.

The reason why the ruling party in the state should be voted out of Creek Haven, he remarked, ” is very obvious”.

Governor Diri, going by the facts in ground, he said, has under performed.

The APC candidate in the state, Chief Timipre Sylva, who the party chairman noted, has been tested and trusted, and will do better when he comes back as governor of the oil and gas rich state.

Similarly, Peremobowei Ebebi, a former speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly and also former deputy governor of the state, remarked that the power to change the parlous situation in the state lies squarely in the hands of the people and as such they should not hesitate to use the power of their ballots to vote in Chief Timipre Sylva as governor to replace the “current non-performing” Douye Diri in the November 11, 2023 Bayelsa guber polls.

Other speakers mounted the podium to reaffirm their support for APC and ensure that the party’s candidate Chief Timipre Sylva emerges victorious in the coming election
