The Bayelsa State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed thirteen commissioner-nominees for the State Executive Council.
This was at a sitting presided over by the speaker, Rt Hon Abraham Ingobere.
Although the state governor, Senator Douye Diri, had sent the names of 14 nominees to the Assembly for screening and confirmation, one of them, Mr Daniel Igali was absent.
Those screened and confirmed are: Dambo Biriyai SAN, Maxwell Embeleyi Ebibai, Moses Teibowei, Mrs Ebiowou Koku – Obiyai, Dr Gentle Epilefa Emelah, Ayibakipreye Brodericks, George Ekpotuatein Flint and Komuko Akari Kharim.
Others are Perepuighe Biewari, Jones Ebieri, Barr. Peter Afagha, Mrs Elizabeth Bidei Elizabeth and Michael Magbisa.
Advising the nominees after the screening, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Michael Ogbere, enjoined them to work as a team with those they meet on ground, and remain loyal to the government at all times.
Also, leader of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Monday-Bubou Edwin Obolo said the people of the state expect a lot from them, adding that the House will do its best to keep them on their toes, through its oversight functions while giving them the needed legislative support where necessary.
