A political pressure group in the Niger Delta region, Atiku Support Group, has called on Nigerians at home and in Diaspora to come out en masse to cast their votes for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
President of the group, Hon. Sam Ateke, made the appeal recently, while chatting with news men in his office.
He condemned, in strong terms, “the untold hardships Nigerians are passing through,” adding that the “messiah ‘Atiku’ will ensure a robust economic policy that will place Nigeria on right footing.”
He noted that Atiku has versatile economic blueprint that will reposition Nigeria to achieve greatness among the comity of nations.
The group, “which has the support of other affiliate groups and associations across the length and breadth of the Niger Delta region is currently sensitising people to get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and on the need to vote out the APC led government that wrecked the nation.”
Ateke further pointed out that the group will in no distant time embark on door-to-door campaign, aimed at persuading voters to cast their votes for Atiku Abubakar, “who has the magic wand to transform Nigeria and give the people a new breath of life.
“Atiku Support Group is spread across the 23 local government areas of Rivers State. Niger Delta Youth Association, Niger Delta Progressive Youth Leadership Foundation, The Wise Women Participatory Found6 and Niger Delta Youth Coalition are some of the affiliate groups and associations that are solidly behind the emergence of Atiku Abubakar, come 2023,” he said.
