The National Association of Ogoni Media Workers Worldwide (NAOMEW) has extended a message of heartfelt welcome to Ogonis as the Prof. Don Baridam-led Ogoni Dialogue Facilitators Committee convenes a much-needed meeting of the ethnic nation.
In a release made available by president of NAOMEW, Martins Barida Giadom, the group said “As Ogonis arrives the Famous Peace and Freedom Center in Bori today for the Ogoni National Congress call by the Ogoni Dialogue Facilitators Committee, headed by the erudite Prof. Don. Baridam, the National Association of Ogoni Media Workers Worldwide welcomes all sons and daughters and indeed the entire good people of Ogoni to the Peace and Freedom Centre, Bori.
“We salute the good people of Ogoni and congratulate our own, the erudite Prof. Don Baridam a celebrated leader and elder stateman.
“Today Ogoni will display our ancient style of hospitality and non-violent approach shown during our over 35 years of the Ogoni struggle.
“Today the Ogoni women and youth will speak with one voice, as their shall be no faction and unity will prevail for Ogoni development at our Peace and Freedom Centre, Bori, the traditional headquarters of the Ogoni People,” the group said.
Also, according to Martins Giadom, “the leadership, members of the Response and interventions Committee of the National Association of Ogoni Media Workers are already in Bori to provide a comprehensive coverage to this all important congress.”
