As Beneficiary of N’Delta, I’ll Support its Development ~ Chief Wordu

The Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BIMFERMS Investment Ltd and other subsidiaries, Chief Dr Henry Chima Wordu, has admitted that he is a beneficiary of the Niger Delta and will give his support to any move towards the development of the region.

He made the statement while receiving an award of Honour as a ‘Distinguished Company Director of the Year 2024’ from the Niger Delta Media Practitioners of Nigeria (NDMPN) in his office in Port Harcourt, Thursday.

Wordu said he has passion for charity, hence will partner with the NDMPN in executing their projects in line with his policies and programme of reaching out to the downtrodden in the society.

The oil magnet noted that the award presented to him has taken him down memory lane, just as he advised the younger generation to live up to their responsibilities in the overall interest of the larger society.

Earlier in his address, Convener of the Niger Delta Media Practitioners of Nigeria (NDMPN), Amb. Joseph Asomeji, disclosed that they were in his office to follow up on the report of the assessment team of the association and congratulated the awardee on his corporate social responsibility activities, particularly building of public market for the use of residents of his community and support to both the conventional security operatives and the locals among other charity works.

Amb. Asomeji maintained that Niger Delta Media Practitioners of Nigeria (NDMPN) is an association of practicing journalists from the region, with the aim of supporting the education of the younger generation, encouraging entrepreneurship, public office holders and philanthropists.

He appealed for the funding of the association’s second quarter 2024 projects, which include donating learning/ teaching aid to secondary schools in the region.

In his goodwill massage, the Director General of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture PHCCIMA, Mr. Erasmus Chukwunda thanked the association for finding the recipient worthy, noting that the award was well deserved and congratulated Chief Wordu on the award.
