A popular aspirant for the Ughelli North Constituency 1 seat in the Delta State House of Assembly come 2023 general elections, Hon. Fidelis Adjogbe, has again assured Deltans and his constituents of the preparedness and determination of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to rescue the state from “the strangulation and failed government of the PDP since 1999.”
The Evwreni-born politician, who is seeking election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, made the statement recently at Patani town, headquarters of Patani local council when Chief Dr. Chris Ekiyor, a notable Ijaw leader, and others numbering over one hundred, decamped from the PDP to the APC.
Speaking with our correspondent during the political event which brought together APC leaders and faithful from the three Ijaw local government areas of Patani, Bomadi and Burutu in Delta State, Hon. Adjogbe said, “Without being told, from all our political gatherings in this season, the large populations and mammoth crowds of people is already a confirmation that APC has taken over Delta State come 2023 general elections.
“It shows that, as a party, we are ever determined to rescue Delta State from the PDP failed government since 1999. At this time, APC as a party is ready and open to all those that want to join us, as the winning team, to rescue our dear state from total collapse and underdevelopment.
“I also want to call on all Deltans to support the governorship ambition of our amiable deputy president of the Senate, Sen. Bar. Ovie Omo-Agege, as a detribalised leader, to bring positive changes to our state. The DSP is a square peg in a square hole. A political leader that is courageous and determined to change the stories of the state to successful ones,” he said.
Hon. Adjogbe also called on APC delegates and party leaders in Ughelli North LGA to vote for him during the coming APC primaries to make him the party flag bearer in the constituency.
He however promised not to betray the mandate of the people when he finally becomes a member of the Assembly in 2023; but will represent the interests and needs of the constituency by even distribution of the constituency projects round all the communities, creation of jobs and different empowerment programmes, facilitating the establishment of industries and schools and other productive programmes as political benefits for all constituents.
The political event however ended with the formal welcoming of Chief Dr. Chris Ekiyor and other decampees into the APC as full and bonafide members of the party by the state party chairman, Chief Omeni Sobotie, supported by other members of the state executive committee and other APC leaders from different parts of the state.
