The governorship ambition of Evwreni-born managing director/CEO of the National Bio-Safety Management Agency (NBMA), Chief Dr. Rufus Eseoghene Ebegba, was recently supported and boosted by Delta State delegates and observers at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention held at the Eagle Square, Abuja on Saturday March 26, 2022.
The support which was given to Chief Dr. Ebegba in Abuja by some of the Delta APC delegates and observers took place at a get-together for the delegates and members of his various support groups from the state that also attended the convention as observers.
Addressing the teeming crowd during the event, Dr. Ebegba solicited for their support during the 2023 general elections so as to build a better state, noting that the PDP administrations in the state had ravaged its economy and political system of government over the past sixteen years.
“I welcome all of you to Abuja and to the National Convention of our great party. In the same way, I also welcome you to my house here. 2023 general elections are not too far again. I want you to support my governorship ambition in this our party for just some cogent reasons.
“First, support this ambition to completely remove the PDP government from the state after they have ravaged our economy and impoverished every Deltan in these past sixteen years.
“My purpose of coming into this race is to build a state that will make everybody relevant by creating employment opportunities for our youths and different social programmes for our women and the elderly. My people, I want your votes to count this time. The era of buying votes from electorates is over in Delta State,” he said.
In their various responses and comments to Dr. Ebegba’s address, the Delta State APC delegates and members of his various support groups that attended the dinner party threw their support behind his governorship ambition, promising to work for him to achieve his political dream come 2023.
Some of those that spoke to our correspondent during the event described Chief Dr. Ebegba as a pragmatic and proactive developer, an internationally acclaimed public administrator, a philanthropist and generous giver and a kind-hearted man that have the pains and tears of Deltans at heart and ready to sacrifice his knowledge and hard earned resources to put smiles on the faces of the people without compromise.
The event ended with the presentation of goodwill messages from the delegates and the heads of the different support groups ranging from Concerned Students for Ebegba, Forum of Delta Councillors for Ebegba, Ijaw Support Group for Ebegba, Isoko People for Ebegba and many others.
