His Majesty, A. P Ataisigwung, Uboon Owawa of Ayama Community in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, has commiserated with the people of Opobo Kingdom on the demise of their former monarch, King Dandeson Douglas Jaja.
He said although it’s a wrong way to start the year but noted that death is a necessary end and a call everyone must answer.
King Owawa said it was very painful that the late Amanyanabo is taking a bow when his fatherly advice is needed the most especially from the people of Opobo kingdom and Rivers State.
He equally praised the people of Opobo kingdom for the peaceful selection of a replacement for the late king.

Alabo Charles Mac-Pepple Jaja, Head of the Mac-Pepple War Canoe House of Opobo, was selected as the new Amanyanabo of Opobo, following the transition of the late monarch, King Dandeson Jaja Jeki V.
The Amanyanabo-elect, 65 years old, is the younger brother of the immediate past Amanyanabo and a son of a former occupant of the throne, King Douglas Jaja, continuing a lineage strongly rooted in the traditional leadership of the Opobo Kingdom.
