As Barrister the James A. James-led administration in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State clocks 100 days in office recently, one of his close political aide and Chief Protocol Officer of Council, Hon Ezekiel Wari Jaja, has passed a vote of confidence on his leadership so far, describing it, “as a model of purposeful governance and prudent resource management”.
Speaking with PH Mundial recently in Opobo Town on the journey so far of this dispensation, Jaja applauded the Council Chairman’s ” bold start”, in infrastructural renewal, youth empowerment, and community inclusiveness.
He cited the flagg-off of a 7.5 kilometer Nkoro- Kiriko internal road project, rehabilitation of key access routes, empowerment of local artisans, and improved administration coordination as proof that the administration means business.
He added that the Barrister James’ people-centred style, open-door- policy, and regular engagement with traditional rulers and community leaders have rekindled public confidence in the council system.
According to him,” In just 100 days, the Barrister James’ administration has demonstrated that local governance can truly work for the people, if anchored on transparency and collaboration”.
He further assured that political aides and stakeholders would continue to support the Chairman’s vision of ‘ quality service delivery’, Infrastructural advancement, and youth development”.
Jaja also stressed that from the rehabilitation of township roads to the restructuring of administrative departments, his early actions reveal strategic intent.
”More importantly, his insistence on participatory governance and partnership with traditional institutions demonstrates political maturity and vision.
”However, beyond recommendations lies the real task of sustained performance. The next 100 days will consolidate on revenue growth, human capital development, and environmental cleanliness, the pillars that guarantee enduring community satisfaction.
”Opobo/Nkoro deserves a legacy of inclusive growth. Barrister James is poised to entrench transparency systems and collective efforts at building an egalitarian LGA of our forebears dreams.
”While visible projects excite citizens, institutional reforms sustain credibility. As Rivers State under the watch of Governor Siminalayi Fubara navigates its development trajectory, the Opobo/Nkoro examples shows that genuine transformation begins where government meets the people”, Hon Ezekiel Wari Jaja said.
aja noted that chairman’s early projects, including road rehabilitations, community sanitation, and health- centres revitalization, signal seriousness and discipline uncommon at the local government level.
”My passage of vote of confidence on the Council Chairman’s performance so far, is not mere rhetoric, it reflects a growing recognition of practical delivery and administrative clarity”, he declared.
He averred: “Barrister James has shown that governance is not about speeches, but about service, visibility, and accountability”, adding that, ” Opobo/Nkoro people now feel the pulse of responsible leadership under the administration of Barrister James A James, as Executive Chairman”.
