As the 2024 Delta State Local Government Elections gather momentum across the state, the two youth chairmen of Unenurhie Youth Association, Mr. Abiola Pender and Mr. Anthony Onudo, have described Hon. Fidelis Adjogbe as the best choice for chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area.
In separate interviews with our correspondent during the Education seminar organized by the leadership of Unenurhie community recently, the two youth chairmen described Hon. Adjogbe as the right peg in the right hole.
Mr. Abiola Pender said: “Hon. Fidelis Adjogbe is the best choice for our local government council. He’s a man of the people. He has the pains of the youth at heart. Before this time, he has been giving helping hand to many of us here in this community. Not only here, he has equally done the same to youths of other communities in the local government council.
“He’s one man who is in love with education. I know if we can join together to elect him as the next chairman of the local government council, he will definitely do more to raise the standard of education of our children. His acts of generosity, kindness and love for all the people will definitely speak for him during the 2024 elections in the state,” they said.
Pender also pointed out that “going by the democratic principles of fairness, equity and justice, it’s the turn of Evwreni Ward to produce the next chairman of Ughelli North local government council. Since 1999, all the other wards and kingdoms in the local government council have produced the council chairman one time or the other except Evwreni Ward/Kingdom.
“This is why I’m calling on all the wards in the local government council to rally round and vote massively for Hon. Fidelis Adjogbe as our next chairman. We in Unenurhie community, he’s our best choice and we are ready to work for him,” he said.
The second youth chairman, Mr. Anthony Onudo said, “Hon. Fidelis Adjogbe is an indigene of Unenurhie community. Therefore, we have no other person than to work for his success and victory at the end of the day. Having said this, I want to also advise the leadership of the PDP in Evwreni Ward that, the councilorship position is for Unenurhie community this time around.
“Without doubt, both the PDP and APC as the two major political parties in the ward have marginalized us long enough in this Evwreni Ward. We have many eligible and capable young men and women that can contest this councilorship position in our community here. We need their support at this time to wipe away our unending tears since the creation of the electoral ward if truly, they take Unenurhie community as part of the Evwreni Ward. At least, to establish fairness, equity and justice in our politics, the Evwreni people should allow us to go this time around,” he said.
The duo however advised the youths of Unenurhie community to key into the vision and ambition of Hon. Fidelis Adjogbe as the incoming chairman of Ughelli North local government council and also to support any Unenurhie youths to become the councilor of Evwreni Ward come 2024.
