Adjogbe Commiserates with Dietake over Mother’s Death

The immediate past executive director, Projects (EDP) at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Engr. Samuel Adjogbe, recently led a high-powered delegation, comprising members of the political and business class and community leaders to grace the burial of late Mrs. Janet Avwouwekpada Dietake.

Late Mrs. Dietake, aged 87, was the mother of Mr. Samuel Dietake, permanent secretary, office of the secretary to the Delta State government. 

The funeral which was held on November 19, 2022 at Isiokolo, the headquarters of Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state witnessed the presence of the ‘Who is who’ within and outside Delta State, with most describing the late octogenarian as a ‘Mother in Israel’ with the fear of God and humility. 

In his tribute, Chief Engr. Samuel Adjogbe, popularly called, ‘Oyivwi of Africa’ by his political associates and followers described the late Mrs. Dietake as a well-disciplined mother that trained her children in the right way to life. 

“Our late mother, no doubt was a well behaved and a highly disciplined mother. She trained all her children in the right way of life. She trained them in the dignity of labour and how to face life challenges with victory. The result of her hard work is what we are seeing here today. She was a good mother and that’s why her children are according her a befitting rite of passage today.

“Though the entire Dietake family is my family too, but I came purposely to join Mr. Samuel Dietake to give his late mother a befitting funeral. No matter how old a parent is, his/her demise is always a great loss to the children. I have nothing to tell my brother and the rest members of the family, than to encourage them to live above the pain and the great loss.

“I share in their grief and also thank God, the mother was of age before she died and all the children are well placed in the society today. She equally enjoyed the fruits of her labour before she finally passed on. I want to advise the children to uphold the fine legacies of their late mother,” he said.

Mr. Dietake however thanked Chief Adjogbe and his entourage for the huge support given to him and his family during the burial of their late mother. He also described Chief Adjogbe as a philanthropist and a helper of the poor and the less privileged in the country as he was able to create time out of his tight schedule to grace his late mother’s funeral.

Amongst those in Chief Engr. Adjogbe’s entourage were Alhaji (Barr.) Mumakhai Unagha; Major John Ufeti (rtd), former president-general of Evwreni kingdom, Hon. Fidelis Adjogbe, SSA to the Delta State governor; Mr. Peter Maison, president-general of Unenurhie community; Dr. Johnson Abrucha, Akpohor of Unenurhie community; Hon. Desmond Okpako Duke, Comr. Friday Diamond, Unenurhie vigilante group chairman, Mr. Victor Edema, Evang. Isaac Oriodofe, vice president-general of Unenurhie community and host of others.
