A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Evwreni Ward 08 and also a former youth chairman of Unenurhie community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Austin Abrucha aka ‘Omasa’ has congratulated the president-general of Uwheru kingdom, Chief Macpherson Igbedi, on the occasion of the special thanksgivings to God over his election as president-general few months ago.

In a chat with our correspondent during the reception held after the church service at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Urede-Uwheru, Mr. Abrucha said, “I knew Chief Macpherson Igbedi for a very long time now, since he was a councilor who represented this Uwheru ward some time ago.

“We are members of the PDP family in Ughelli North LGA. He’s a highly respected political leader in this community with a very high sense of integrity and humility. He’s a kind of a community leader everybody wants in their communities. In fact, I’m the happiest person when I read in the papers that he won the community election to be Uwheru president-general for the next four years. I know his political worth as a detrabilized leader who will not tolerate oppression or marginalization in his administration. I celebrate with him on this occasion of the Thanksgiving. We must surely give God all the glory.”

Overwhelmed with joy, Abrucha, who is the Unenurhie marriage committee chairman, thanked all the dignitaries that graced the occasion, saying, “I must thank everybody present here today to celebrate with my brother and leader. I’m also an Uwheru man. My mother is from Uwheru here. This is the more reason I came to celebrate with him as a brother and also as my political father.

“However, I also want to advise Chief Igbedi as the new president-general of Uwheru kingdom to always maintain the already existing cordial and peaceful relationship between Unenurhie and Uwheru communities. The Unenurhie president-general, Mr. Peter Maison, is also a friendly and peaceful leader. They should continue to do together in love and peace as neighbouring communities.”

The Thanksgiving service drew together sons and daughters of Uwheru kingdom from far and near, and also friends and political associates.
