The Fidelis Support Group (FSG), a “popular and vibrant” political pressure group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State has paid a condolence visit to Dr. Johnson Abrucha, the ‘Akpohor’ (Deputy Speaker) of Unenurhie community over the demise of his father, late Olorogun Pa. Samson Ughojor Abrucha, the ‘Okpako-Orere’ (oldest man) of Unenurhie community.

The FSG team, led by its founder/co-ordinator, Hon. Fidelis Adjogbe, and other top principal officers of the group, paid the visit to the ‘Akpohor’, his siblings and other members of the Abrucha family at the residence of the late ‘Okpako-Orere’ days ago.

Speaking during the condolence visit, the FSG founder, Hon. Fidelis Adjogbe, who was former SSA to the immediate past Delta State governor, advised Dr. Abrucha and his siblings to take heart over the death of their father, even though the father died at a ripe old age and was the oldest man in the entire community.

“We are here as members of the Fidelis Support Group to sympathize with you as our member and also with your other brothers and sisters, the family members and also the entire Unenurhie community over the death of your father. We can only cry for money in the death of our father because he was well of age before he died. Yet, it’s a great loss to the family and the entire community for losing such an old man in a time like this. We are really pained as a group to receive the sad news few days ago. Therefore, on behalf of the Fidelis Support Group, we send our deepest condolences to you, your siblings and the entire Unenurhie community over the death of your father and as the oldest man in the community.”

In his remarks during the visit, the chief mourner and eldest son of the deceased, who is the also the deputy speaker of Unenurhie community, Dr. Johnson Abrucha, thanked the Fidelis Support Group and all who sympathized with him and his other siblings during this period.

Hear him: “You have made me and my siblings proud today. I’m now encouraged to have the hope of giving my late father a befitting burial as it’s the cultural practice of our people. Since the death of our father on September 9th, this compound has been a busy place for visitors, sympathizers and all the community people, just to share the sad moment with us. This alone has gone to show that, our father lived a better life worthy of emulation. In fact, your visit today has only added to my happiness and make me to know the value of belonging to political or social clubs. On behalf of my siblings and family members, I have nothing to say than to thank you for your visit!”

The late Olorogun Pa. Samson Ughojor Abrucha was a renowned trado-medical specialist in the whole of the Niger-Delta region with much experience in the African herbs. He died at the ripe age of one hundred and twenty years as the oldest man in Unenurhie community and as the chief custodian of Ohworhu cultural festival.
