The palatial home of the president-general of Unenurhie community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Peter Maison, was recently agog as he celebrated his birthday anniversary with his family, friends and community members; even as he dedicated the anniversary to orphans and the incapacitated in the community.

Speaking to our correspondent immediately after the cutting of the birthday cake with the support of his wife and children, Mr. Maison who was beaming with contented smiles said, “First, I want to happily dedicate my 2023 birthday celebration to all orphans and all the incapacitated ones in Unenurhie community and other places, despite they are suffering and have no helpers to give them warmth and cheer them up in love and joy.

“At a time like this, I want to remember them in this birthday celebration and also ready to share the moment with them.

“Having said this, I want to thank God because He’s our supreme being for adding another fruitful year to my age. It’s not by might or power. It’s God’s doing. I’m indeed grateful to God for all His mercies and grace upon my life and also upon my lovely wife and children. Lastly, I want to thank all of you that are celebrating with me today. I sincerely thank my lovely wife, children and also my respectful son- in-law. And to all of you out there, celebration will continually be a watchword and a daily song in your lives in Jesus name!”

Also speaking during the birthday celebration, the PG’s wife, Mrs. Angela Maison described her husband as a man with a large heart, both at home and in the leadership of the community.

Hear her: “My husband is a man with a large heart. A man that can accommodate all kinds of people and at the same time, accommodate all challenges, insults, humiliations and every type of social defiance. I’m not saying all these about him because I’m his wife. Whatever I’m saying about my husband today is what I have experienced in this our matrimonial home since we got married over the years. My lovely husband is a man with leadership traits. This is what he’s displaying as the president-general of Unenurhie community. I commend him for his leadership prowess. Therefore, I wish him many happy returns!”

His twin children, who are also his eldest sons, poured encomiums on their father as they joined him to celebrate his birthday with glamour. They described their father as one with love and care for his children and family members. The duo applauded their father saying, “Today, we are here, rejoicing and celebrating with our lovely father on behalf of our other siblings. As our father is marking his 2023 birthday anniversary, we celebrate it with him in joy and also joined him to dedicate the birthday celebration to orphans and the incapacitated in this our community. In fact, what our father has done today in regard to this kind of birthday dedication, has taught us great moral lesson about life. In this case, we should learn to treat everyone equally. We shouldn’t segregate or look down on any person because we are top of the world. We should learn to respect others. We wish our dear father, more fruitful years ahead.”

The birthday anniversary ended with the presentation of cash and material gifts to the celebrant, Mr. Peter Maison, by his wife, children, family and community members.
