Mrs. Warri Omote Ogbonor, who died after a brief illness at her home town, Unenurhie community, Evwreni kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, was aged 86.
In a statement, the eldest son of the late octogenarian, Mr. Reuben Ogbonor, an Ughelli based printer and a highly dedicated Rosicrucian of Ughelli Lodge, described his late mother as a humble woman of honour and dignity. “A hard-working mother that instilled discipline and integrity among her children and all those around them in the community,” he said.
In his tribute, the Delta State NUT officer and also a former president-general of Unenurhie community, Mr. Saturday Ogbonor, described his late mother as a very supportive and caring mother, even at her old age.
Hear him: “Even though my mother died at old age, I’m bitterly pained by her death. My mother was very supportive and caring for all her biological children and also the children of her neighbours in this part of our community. She raised me to limelight and I will continue to pay her that allegiance, even in death.
“My late mother also served in various capacities as a woman leader in this community. We the children are very proud of the kind legacies laid down by my late mother. They are legacies, we the children will continue to build on in life. In fact, my late mother is dear to my heart. But God knows why she passed on at this time when we even need her most. May her gentle soul rest in the bossom of the Lord,” he said.
The late Mrs. Warri Omote Ogbonor is survived by five children, grand children and many great grand children, among who is Mr. Andrew Ororo Ogbonor, a very popular and renowned APC chieftain in Evwreni Ward.
