Blessing Elliot, a staff of Peoples 93.1 FM, Yenagoa, emerged the overall best staff of the radio station as it marked its second anniversary recently.

The award was conferred on her at the ceremony held to mark the station’s two years debut on the broadcast arena at the ultramodern event center, Daven, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

The station, which on its own has won fifteen awards for excellent broadcasting, also honoured Patricia Imiete, Juliet Uyabara, Kogi Amaeimogha, Isaac Eyedoude and Martins Oyindoubra, all staff of Peoples 93.1 FM.

The station also gave awards to distinguished citizens of Bayelsa State, which include: Hon. Fafi, Hon. Oforji Oboku, the state governor, Chief Douye Diri, and his deputy governor, Lawrence Ewrhudjakpo.

Speaking at the occasion, the general manager of Peoples 93.1 FM, Hon. Lawson Hayford, said the success story of Peoples 93.1 FM was the dedication of its workforce more than the power of equipment the broadcast station has.

He added that as the station marches towards its third anniversary, it will continue to reward staffs who do their best to improve on the services the radio station offers to listeners.

“As we march forward to the 3rd anniversary of the radio station, we congratulate our staff, clients and fans, noting that the wine would get better with age. We owe ourselves the duty to perform better,” Hayford stated.

“To the listening public, we want to inform that we are instituting the Peoples 93.1 FM Annual Award of Excellence to outstanding individuals from all works of life as a focus of celebrating our landmark anniversaries. Next year, the choice of nominees would be the responsibility of the listener than the management of the radio station,” he added.
