Persons Living With Disabilities in Bayelsa State have poured encomiums on Bayelsa-born legal practitioner, Toinpre Elliona Crawford, for her kind gestures towards the group.
In commemoration of her forthcoming 27th birthday, Crawford through her C.T.E Foundation organized a charity outreach for PWDs, widows and widowers in the oil-rich state.
The event which was held in the state capital, Yenagoa, saw the distribution of bags of rice, food items, as well as cash gifts to the scores of beneficiaries who were drawn from the 8 local government areas of the state.
Leading the commendations for the celebrant, Mr. Ekpomokumor, Bayelsa state chairman, Joint committee on People Living With Disabilities, profusely thanked Crawford for the philanthropic initiative.
According to him, “Today is a happy day, because we can see somebody who is not a politician but a private citizen using her own money to reach out to persons with disabilities.”
Also speaking, Evang. Beloved Benwari who is a widow and a beneficiary showed expressed deep appreciation for the gifts items and money she received from the foundation.
Another beneficiary, Mr. Ifieladei Ebimie-Owei, praised the celebrant for her kind gesture and prayed for God’s blessings upon her.
Comr. Ebi Prince Etolor, a youth leader in Bayelsa state, who was also in attandance described Crawford as a good person lauded her kind gesture towards the many beneficiaries.
“Birthdays like this many will plan on how to celebrate themselves, throw good parties but she thought it wise to give back to humanity. It speaks a lot about her.
“I must say I’m proud of her, she is a good person and she has proven it again today,” the youth leader said.
Earlier in her speech, Miss Crawford admitted that she was inspired by her mother, Hon. Helen Inafa-Bob and the gospel to show love to the vulnerable in society.
She added that the gesture was to show appreciation to God for his faithfulness in her life.
The event was well attended by dignateries including Bayelsa Monarch and politician, HRH Israel Sunny-Goli (Kemmer V), Bayelsa Politician, Hon. Chief Berry Negerese, among others.
