PHCCIMA Boss, Nwoga Celebrates Historic NACCIMA AGM, Showcases Rivers’ Blue Economy Potentials

‎The President of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA), Dr. Chinyere Nwoga, has described the successful hosting of the 66th Annual General Meeting and Conference of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) as a landmark achievement that has elevated PHCCIMA’s national profile and showcased Rivers State as a prime investment destination.

‎Speaking at the close of the four-day conference in Port Harcourt, Dr. Nwoga said hosting the AGM for the first time in PHCCIMA’s over six-decade history marked a defining moment for the Chamber.

‎She thanked NACCIMA for choosing Port Harcourt and said the conference theme, “The Gulf of Guinea and the Blue Economy: Pathways to Trade, Investment and Security Towards a $1 Trillion Economy,” highlighted the vast opportunities in maritime trade, ports, fisheries, logistics, tourism and renewable energy, ” she said.

‎Dr. Nwoga stressed that unlocking the blue economy requires investment, improved infrastructure, maritime security and stronger regional collaboration. She reaffirmed that Rivers remains open for business with opportunities in manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, technology, tourism, real estate and maritime services, while urging stronger government-private sector collaboration to drive sustainable growth.

‎Representing Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Deputy Governor Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu reaffirmed the state’s commitment to private sector-led development and said the blue economy could surpass oil revenues if properly harnessed. She described Rivers as safe for investment and called for stronger protection of Nigeria’s maritime resources.

‎NACCIMA President, Dr. Jani Ibrahim, commended the Rivers State Government and PHCCIMA for the excellent organisation and hospitality. He said Rivers possesses enormous maritime and aquaculture potential capable of driving inclusive growth and urged delegates to explore its investment opportunities.

‎Chairman of the occasion and President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Senator John Azuta Mbata, commended Dr. Chinyere Nwoga for her leadership in successfully hosting the historic conference. He assured the NACCIMA delegation that Rivers State remains secure and an attractive destination for investment. Senator Mbata also officially launched PHCCIMA’s flagship publication, Commerce Port Harcourt, urging stakeholders to support the initiative. The event was also attended by retired Rear Admiral and former Minister of Transport, Festus Porbeni, alongside other distinguished guests.

‎Beyond the conference, delegates enjoyed a welcome dinner at Faraah Lounge, a courtesy visit to the  Port Harcourt monarch, Eze Epara Rebisi XII His Majesty Eze Barr Uchechukwu Isaiah Elikwu, a colourful Cultural Night, an industrial tour of Bonjour Bakery and a glamorous Gala Night celebrating the conference’s success.

‎Stakeholders expressed optimism that the resolutions reached would strengthen collaboration between government and the organised private sector, boost investment in the blue economy and reinforce Rivers State’s position as a leading destination for business, trade and sustainable economic growth.

‎Highlights of the event were, official launching and presentation of the Commerce PH Magazine, Award of Honour to the Chairman of the occasion, Sen. John Mbata, and President of NACCIMA, Engr Dr Jani Ibrahim. Also, NACCIMA National Life Vice President was bestowed on Chief Adoage Norteh with awards to various PHCCIMA members for their contributions.
