Rivers East Contest ‘Unfair’ For My Opponents, Onyesoh boasts

The senator representing Rivers East Senatorial  District, Senator Allwell Heacho Onyesoh has declared the forthcoming election in the area as ‘unfair’ for his opponents because of his performance.

‎Onyesoh who emerged as the sole candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC for Rivers East Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections, declared this following  his primary election victory.


‎Speaking to newsmen shortly after the election at  Okoroagu/Okomoko/Umuanyagu, ward 5, in Etche, Onyesoh who is also the Chairman Senate Committee on Works, thanked the people for the confidence reposed in him.

‎He said the forthcoming general elections particularly, in the Rivers East is going to be an unfair contest in view of his unprecedented valuable performance in the District.

‎”I feel sorry for my opponents in the sense that it is an unfair contest, unfair contest because I have been given opportunity to perform and I have performed. They are coming and they have not performed, so they need to talk a lot”, he said boasting that there is hardly any community within the District where he has not touch one person or his relative with one form of empowerment, or the other.

‎According to him, “my work is to make laws that will better and improve the lives of the people, but beyond that, I will continue to attract more development in education, Agriculture, infrastructure, and tourism”.

‎He attributed the massive turnout of voters for the primaries as a testament to their clarion call for his continuity.

‎”As you can see, the election has been peacefully concluded, we are sitting, rejoicing and  discussing. We are also settling slight differences for some who may have felt angered by one or two of my steps. Outside the voting, it is also a time for reappraisal and reconciliations” he said, describing the exercise as wonderful.

‎He praised  President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as well as the FCT Minister, Chief Nyesom Wike for their prudence and sagacious leadership which has seamlessly reduced the anticipated expenses and quarrel in the APC and PDP renewed hope.

‎He particularly lauded  Wike for his resilience in handling and resolving every issues within the party, noting that coalitions of political parties to form a government was an old time practice.

‎According to him,  NCNC and ANC at one time in Nigeria history agreed and formed a government and nobody died, APP and NPN at one time came together and formed a government  likewise others, stating that there is nothing that the FCT Minister is doing today that would single him out as a villain.

‎Senator Onyesoh further opined that he does not believe in sharing rice, but on projects that have direct bearing on the needs of the people.

‎He mentioned federal road resurfacing and maintenance, bills to establish FMC at Ozuzu awaiting Presidential approval, rebuilding of GSS Ndashi, Umuozoche, Egbu  respectively, subsidizing law students fees among others as some of his numerous achievements and attributed the feat to the opportunity given to him by God through FCT Minister.

‎In the same vein, the Vice Chairman of Etche Local Government Council, Hon Onyesoh Faith Ijeoma expressed delight over the emergence of Senator Onyesoh,  and the mass turnout of party faithful for the exercise.

‎”I am not surprised here today, the Distinguished has done marvellously well to this community and outside Etche. As you can see, the people are happy”, she said.

‎She expressed optimism that the reelection of Chief Onyesoh was going to be a smooth one in view of his numerous developmental stride.

‎According to her, Senator Onyesoh is not a man of pretence, his passion to lift lives is innate and flows naturally.

‎She therefore, urged the entire Rivers East Senatorial District to vote in their numbers for victory of Senator Onyesoh.
