One of the pioneer students of the institution, Barrister Emeka Wodo, has commended the organizers of the meeting, expressing excitement and nostalgia for the occasion.
Barrister Wodo, who was the pioneer Chapel Prefect of the school and later became a teacher years after, recalled the humble beginnings of the school, formerly known as Community Secondary School Agba-Ndele, and the efforts of the community in establishing the institution.
He urged old students of the school to identify with one another and their alma mater, and to support the initiative with their hearts and resources.
He emphasized the importance of perseverance, citing the school’s motto, “Perseverance Conquers,” and encouraged alumni to come together to channel their collective potential for the benefit of the school and future generations.
He said “The inaugural meeting of RHS Old Students’ Association is an expression of the goodness of God for keeping us all alive to see a day like this. Many of us divided by distance and time will gather to feel once more the ambience of our school and the camaraderie associated with events like ours. We must persevere in the face of our personal challenges and schedules to make this gathering memorable.
“Many of us have grown along different directions and gone to places far from one another. But we are still united in our commitment to our school and our motto; ‘Perseverance Conquers’.
“Long ago our school came up with that motto of hers ‘Perseverance Conquers’ which is an inspiration to everyone of us. Our students do not give up. They persevere and conquer at the end. Be counted among those who will not give up on this project.
