There are suspicions that the alleged kidnap of High Chief Uchenna Obiwanne, by suspected kidnappers, may have been a special concern to the community.
Close sources at the scene of the attack hinted that on the 8TH of October 2025, the Nigeria Police At Oyigbo, Rivers State received a distress call from one David Sabastine, who resides at No, 15 Nzeribe Street Umusoya In Oyigbo, informing that the kidnappers allegedly went to Oboma and kidnapped one High Chief Uchenna Obiwanne, who incidentally is the uncle of the original target of the kidnap plot-‘ one Kennedy Chinedu Obinwanne’.
Eye witness account at the scene of the crime said that the kidnappers arrived the Obiwanne Premises, heavily armed with AK 47 rifles, and other sophisticated weapons.
Family sources disclosed that during the time of the attack by the kidnappers, they took away High Chief Uchenna Obiwanne, but not without some ugly incidences left behind.
Reporters gathered that other family members during the incident, were also heavily injured, by the kidnappers, before they whisked away High Chief Uchenna Obiwanne.
Amongst those that sustained different degrees of injuries during the incident includes Madu Obiwanne, Ngozi Obiwanne, his mother, and Mrs Cecilia Uche.
At press time, we learnt that the injured persons at the scene of the kidnap were taken to a private facility, where they are receiving treatment.
A police source said that investigation is still ongoing on the matter.
