Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has received the torch of unity as part of the build up to the state’s sports festival.
The festival will feature both junior and senior athletes from all 31 Local Government Areas, competing in 18 core sports including; Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Chess, Judo, Karate, Scrabble, Swimming, Wrestling, Weightlifting, and Football.
In addition, Golf, Cricket, Kokowa, and Ayo will be featured as demonstration sports, while team events will be decided at the senatorial districts levels.
Having kick-started the process, the Unity Torch is now expected to go round the 31 local government areas of the State, signifying inclusivity and unity under the Governor Eno’s administration
