Three Bayelsa School Graduates Make List of Nigeria’s U19 Basketball World Cup Team

As the Nigeria Basketball Federation release the roster for the national female U-19 team expected to represent Nigeria at this year’s U19 World Cup in Czech Republic, three Bayelsa school graduates have been listed.

Out of the 12 players invited, 5 are foreign based while 7 are from the grassroots with 3 products from St. Jude’s Girls Secondary School and Benny International School of Bayelsa made the list.

It was learnt that the trio of Pius Idubamo Beggi, Abigail Isaac, and Favour Samson tutored by coach Tony Nelson, have gone through stages of development at the grassroots, tracking back to their days competing for Bayelsa State in Nestle Milo Secondary School Basketball Championship.

Here is the full Team list; Jessica Ajayi, Pius Idubamo Beggi, Wandoo Marvis Hembam, Gbemisola Samuel, Toby Nweke, and Momoluwa Tewogbade

Others are Nora Ezike, Francisca Chukwu, Olanrewaju Ayodeji,Abigail Isaac, Olaoluwa O. Victoria and Favour Sampson.
