Bayelsa Queens: Coach Whyte Resolved to Surpass Last Season’s Achievements

As Bayelsa Queens Football Club gear up to take to the pitch in the forthcoming Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership, Coach Whyte Ogbonda has expressed resolve to surpass their last season achievements.

Whyte Ogbonda told Bayelsa Queens Media after training at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, on Monday 5th August, 2024, that the club is looking forward to making the State proud once again.

Recall that Bayelsa Queens finished third last season behind Rivers Angels and winners Edo Queens.

According to Coach Whtye Ogbonda, technical and other necessary formats have been put in place to surpass last season’s achievements.

He said the team has been training tirelessly to ensure they secure a continental ticket at the end of the forthcoming season.

“We are aware of a lot of expectations from Bayelsa Queens particularly after the team came third in Africa two seasons ago, but we are not under any pressure and the Government and the Management of the team have been very supportive”, Coach Whyte said.

Coach Whyte Ogbonda used the medium to appreciate the Bayelsa State Government and the Management of Bayelsa Queens for the freehand and conducive environment they have given him to work with the girls while lauding the efforts of the Bayelsa State Ministry of Sports for the preparation for the coming season.

Coach Whyte appealed to Bayelsans to throw their weight behind the Prosperity Girls through prayers and moral supports.

“I want to thank the Bayelsa State Government and the board of Bayelsa Queens for the support and freehand to work which has made it a lot easier for us and also the Ministry for their efforts to see we get the needed preparations”.

“I just want Bayelsans to keep praying for the team, keep supporting us and I can assure them that we will give our 100% performance”. Coach Ogbonda added.
