2019 Imo Guber: Nobody Can Stop Me ~ Madumere

Embattled deputy governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has declared that apart from God, no man, no matter how highly placed, would be able to stop his gubernatorial ambition in the state come 2019.

Prince Madumere who made this known while speaking to news men at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa said he stands with the masses that are looking up to him and promised never to disappoint them.

He said, “Our movement is called the journey of grace. This is unmerited favour that I don’t deserve but when my people have looked up on me and I saw the opportunity, so why wouldn’t I,” adding that having served Imo people as deputy governor from 2011 to date, there is no other person as experienced and qualified as himself.

The deputy governor reportedly went against his boss, Governor Rochas Okorocha when he indicated interest to succeed him (Rochas) in 2019, a position the latter is keeping for his son- in law, Uche Nwosu. This allegedly led the governor to instigate impeachment moves against him, as well as the subsequent withdrawal of the deputy governor’s official security and other entitlements.

On insinuations that he is leaving the All Progressives Congress for another party in order to actualize his ambition, Madumere said he is still a member of the APC despite the different factions in the party and pressures to change party, stressing that he  supports President Muhammadu Buhari and is still with him.

The deputy governor however seized the opportunity to urge his supporters to keep hope alive and remain steadfast and prayerful while praying God to bless and protect all who believe in him and have good thoughts towards him.
