By Damiete Orugbani

Ogurama Community in Degema Local Government Area was agog with joy on October 21, 2021 as the chairman of the LGA, Hon. Michael John Williams, commissioned a foot bridge and concrete walk way to alleviate the plight of the people.

The project was in fulfillment of the chairman’s campaign promise during his visit to the community.

He had witnessed a situation where it was difficult to board a vessel to Port Harcourt, the state capital, after the campaign when the tide was low.

This incident propelled him to embark on the project.

During the commissioning at Ogurama Water Front, the chairman, Council of Chiefs, Alabo Ben S. Orugbani, went down memory lane to say that, “The chairman is the only chairman that has visited the community after campaign and subsequently commissioned a project within 100 days in office. No chairman has done that in their entire 3 years in office”.

He went further to say that, “The faces seen here are not only PDP members but, other party faithful are here to show solidarity to the chairman’s kind gesture to the community and to feel the ambience of not-seen-before project been executed by a chairman”.
